We are deeply distraught by the murder of Duane Wright and the continued police violence against young Black men. We are also deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent violence directed toward members of the Asian American and Asian immigrant communities in the U.S. We stand in solidarity with these communities and will continue to work to dismantle the bigotry and white supremacy culture that feed individual and systemic violence against people of color and immigrants in Portland and beyond.
We send our best wishes to our Muslim community and Muslims around the world who are observing the holy month of Ramadan.
