Thank you to everyone who attended the first quarterly DEI committee meeting, held on October 8, 2020 at 6pm. The agenda of our meeting is below with some notes on what was discussed.

- Le Monde DEI Committee: history, mission, and structure
- Sue Bickerstaff presented a brief overview of the committee
- All are welcome to attend Leadership Circle meetings which are held on the first Thursday of the month at 6pm. To join the Leadership Circle or to learn more, please contact us.
- Kelly gave a brief tour of the website
- French language in the Pacific Northwest
- Emma Coburn presented a historical look at the French language in the Portland, Paris and Dafar
- Small group conversation
- Kelly Sunrose guided small breakout groups to reflect on the following prompts:
- What is one change your family has made that has helped life during the pandemic? What is a rhythm or habit you have maintained?
- Where & how are you finding joy?
- What is your migration story to the Pacific Northwest?
- Is the PNW part of la francophonie? Why or why not?
- Kelly Sunrose guided small breakout groups to reflect on the following prompts:
- Our direction for this year: survey results and discussion
- Rebecca Sanders presented findings from our survey of families
- Anyone is encouraged to share suggestions for community resources that might help in the planning or facilitation of events (moderated discussions, film screenings, trainings) related to race, gender, or disability.
- Facilitators/moderators will be compensated for their time
