Call for Ceasefire in Palestine

Families for DEI Le Monde call and stress the immediate need for a permanent ceasefire and share our unwavering support for peace in Israel and Palestine.

According to the World Health Organization, over 100,000 Palestinians have tragically lost their lives, are wounded, or missing. This staggering number reflects the immense suffering and loss experienced by the Palestinian people. In light of this heartbreaking reality, we believe it is crucial to come together and raise our voices in solidarity.

We invite you to join us at Birds for Gaza, a Palestinian solidarity event where we will honor the memory of over 15,000 innocent children who have lost their lives in Gaza. This event will serve as a platform to advocate for peace, justice, and the protection of human rights. By standing together, we can send a powerful message of unity and support to those affected by this crisis. As UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell has commented: “A child is a child. Children everywhere must be protected at all times and must never come under attack.”

Birds for Gaza will take place on Saturday, 2/10 at Alder Commons, 4212 NE Prescott PDX from 2-6 pm. The LM contingent will go from 4-6pm and Emma Colburn (info in the LMPC directory) is the point of contact.

Together, let us remember the lives lost, express our commitment to peace, and strive for a brighter future for all. Thank you for your attention and support. We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Families for DEI at Le Monde is an intergenerational group of parents and students that meets monthly/as needed over Zoom. This statement does not reflect the views of all members of the group. We condemn all forms of antisemitism and Islamophobia and continue to support Le Monde in being an environment where every student is safe from hate and bigotry.
